JobType: full-timeRequirementsAbout the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join a leading multi-specialty hospital. The ideal candidate should possess a Master’s in Emergency Medicine (MEM) and have at least 1 year of experience handling emergency and critical care cases. This is an exciting opportunity for medical professionals who thrive in a high-pressure environment and are passionate about delivering quality emergency care.You will be responsible for providing immediate medical attention to patients arriving at the emergency department, coordinating care with specialists, and ensuring efficient triage and treatment. The role requires rapid decision-making, leadership in trauma and emergency situations, and a commitment to saving lives.Key Responsibilities:
- Emergency Medical Care:
Provide rapid assessment, stabilization, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with acute illnesses or injuries in the Emergency Department (ED). * Triage and Prioritization:Supervise and execute effective triage systems to ensure that critically ill or injured patients are identified and treated promptly. * Trauma & Critical Care:Lead trauma resuscitations and manage patients with life-threatening conditions including myocardial infarctions, strokes, respiratory distress, sepsis, and polytrauma. * Procedural Expertise:Perform critical emergency procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, defibrillation, chest tube placement, wound suturing, and basic orthopedic interventions. * Coordination with Specialists:Collaborate with other departments including surgery, orthopedics, neurology, and cardiology to deliver integrated care to emergency patients. * Patient Management & Monitoring:Monitor patients’ condition and response to treatment, ensuring continuity of care and prompt escalation when necessary. * Documentation & Compliance:Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, treatment notes, and discharge summaries as per hospital protocols and medico-legal standards. * Supervision & Training:Guide and supervise junior doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff. Participate in departmental teaching programs, simulations, and drills. * Emergency Preparedness:Contribute to hospital emergency protocols, disaster response plans, and mass casualty preparedness activities.Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: MBBS with MEM (Masters in Emergency Medicine) from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience post-MEM in a reputed hospital’s emergency department.
- Certifications (Preferred): ACLS, BLS, ATLS certified.
- Key Skills:
